JR and Hankyu trains run every few minutes, reaching both cities in 12–30 minutes. *********** Welcome to our home in Takatsuki City — a peaceful, clean, and safe neighborhood ideally located between Kyoto and Osaka. Since 2007, we have hosted guests from all over the world — not as a business, but as a cultural exchange. We especially welcome international students, working holiday travelers, and long-term visitors aged 18 or older who want to experience authentic Japanese life. Guests must be able to make and complete their own reservation arrangements independently. Our homestay offers more than just accommodation. It’s a chance to connect, learn, and feel at home. We value meaningful interaction and strive to provide a warm and supportive base for your life in Japan. We’re located just 2 km from JR Takatsuki Station. It’s a 25-minute walk or a 10-minute bus ride (the bus stop is only 2 minutes from our house), giving you easy access to Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, and Kobe. ▷ About Our Home Two bright, south-facing guest rooms with cozy bedding Large desk for studying or remote work Free high-speed fiber-optic Wi-Fi Washer-dryer available Towels, hairdryer, soap, shampoo & conditioner provided Guest-only space on the 2nd floor: The guest area is equipped with a microwave, oven, toaster, electric kettle, fridge & freezer, cups, plates and Nescafé Dolce Gusto (coffee & tea provided). Our family’s fully equipped kitchen is on the 1st floor, and guests are welcome to use the microwave oven, toaster oven, electric kettle, cups, plates, and basic tableware there as well. Two bicycles are available for free use. Meals Homemade Japanese breakfast and home-cooked dinner are included during your stay. I always cook using vegetables, meat, and fish sourced in Japan, and whenever possible, I choose organic and animal-welfare-friendly ingredients. During January 1–3, we serve traditional Japanese New Year’s dishes (Osechi cuisine). As this is a special seasonal meal, an additional ¥2,000 per day will apply. Thank you for your understanding. *Please note; Dinner is included for new bookings made after June 2026. For existing reservations made before this update, dinner remains optional. Optional home-cooked dinner: ¥1,000 (please request in advance) Special New Year’s dinner (Jan 1–3): ¥3,000 ▷ About Us We’re a retired couple in our 50s living with our adult son and two friendly dogs. Chiaki occasionally works part-time as a nurse, while we both enjoy sharing daily life with our guests. With over 15 years of homestay hosting experience, we genuinely enjoy welcoming international guests and supporting them as they settle into Japan. While we occasionally travel to manage a vacation house in Takashima (Shiga), we always ensure guests are well supported during their stay. Note: We have two cheerful dogs. When the vacation house is not rented out, we often visit with our homestay guests, giving you the chance to enjoy not only urban convenience but also authentic rural living — think mountain walks, lake views, and star-filled skies.
