Live like a local in Tokyo — not just a tourist Experience real Japanese daily life, connect with people, and create memories beyond sightseeing. More than a homestay — this is a place to belong. This homestay is perfect for travelers who want to experience real local life in Japan, not just sightseeing. We live in a quiet residential area less than an hour from central Tokyo. It's a peaceful neighborhood, but still very convenient for exploring the city. The house has three guest rooms, and both my mother and I live here. We have been hosting guests from around the world for over 7 years. Many of our guests stay for longer periods and often say they felt like part of the family, not just visitors. This is not just a place to stay — it's a chance to experience everyday life in Japan. We love spending time together with our guests. Sometimes we cook meals at home, go out for dinner, or hang out with friends in Tokyo or Kamakura. Many guests end up making real connections during their stay. One of the most unique experiences here is visiting Aone Farm, located about an hour away. We go there regularly to grow vegetables, harvest honey, and spend time with local friends. For many guests, this becomes the highlight of their trip — meeting local people, working in nature, and experiencing Japanese countryside life. Language learners are especially welcome here. Many of our guests are studying Japanese or another new language, and I'm a learner myself — English, Chinese, and right now Spanish, every single day. Keeping up a language while working full-time takes real commitment, and I have a lot of respect for people doing it. So please speak Japanese with us at home; mistakes are completely fine. You can also join local Japanese conversation sessions in the community. More than a one-time stay I'd love for the connection to continue after you check out. Some guests come back to Japan again and again. And I travel too — I make it to Europe and the US, so meeting up again on your side of the world would be great. Come thinking of it as making a friend in Tokyo, not just booking a room. That's the best version of what this place can be. This place is especially great for solo travelers and people who enjoy cultural exchange and meaningful conversations. If you're looking for a hotel-like, private stay, this may not be the right place. But if you want real experiences, human connections, and a deeper understanding of Japan, you'll feel at home here. I personally love photography and traveling, and my mother enjoys music and daily conversations with guests. We truly hope your stay becomes more than just accommodation — but a memorable experience and a meaningful connection. Looking forward to meeting you!
