Otonga Valley Retreat

Otonga Valley Retreat is secluded; worldly time kneels before the power of nature. Located near Raglan (17 minutes to the sea), New Zealand’s fourth largest city Hamilton is 25 minutes away. The property meanders up beside a stream through native bush to the house. Once here, you are face-to-face with steep bush-clad hills. Absence of urban sounds and light, serene landscaping, enchanted kitchen garden, sunsets and a vast canopy of stars in a dark night sky. There’s a glow worm city on the way in; the summer garden flutters with Monarch butterflies, cute/comical lawn quail, and with beehives nearby our flowering trees hum. In winter we watch horizontal rain with the fireplace humming behind us! This is a sunny, spacious, eclectic, rustic-chic home. Sharing with Jeff and Sue (in our 60s), two dogs, a cat, plus paddock friends and all the wildlife that goes with living beside a forest. Jeff works weekdays and Sue part-time at home or in Raglan. Infrared sauna, upright grand piano, double hammock, hill and bush walks. Complimentary light breakfast; evening meals extra. These Sue creations are whole foods (cooked from scratch), mostly organic, simple and yum, as food should be!
